There’s no denying it, AI is changing the way we live, work, and create. Some people embrace it, while others are scared of its potential. Honestly? Both perspectives make sense. AI is powerful, and in the wrong hands, it can definitely be misused. But like any tool, its impact depends on the person using it.
One thing I’ve learned is that AI can actually make you use your brain less if you let it. Our brains are muscles, and just like any other muscle, if you don’t exercise them, they weaken. Relying on AI for everything, thinking, creating, problem-solving, can lead to cognitive delays or even decay. And that’s not something I’d ever encourage.
But here’s the other side: AI can free up your time for things that matter most to you. It can help with the heavy lifting, so you can focus on the parts of life and creativity that truly light you up. The key is balance. You have to be smart about how you use it.
For me, I use AI as an artist’s tool. I have an AI voice for my music, not because I can’t write, but because I can’t sing. I’ve always written my own songs and stories, and I continue to do so. That part is mine, and always will be. I grew up reading books and writing for as long as I can remember, and those roots keep me grounded.
So when people say “AI is scary,” I nod. Yes, it can be. But I also believe it doesn’t have to be. We, as humans, are programmed to take the easy route, but easy isn’t always best. I’ll always advocate for doing what’s best for you. If AI helps you explore a new side of your creativity or gives you back time to spend with loved ones, that’s a win.
Just don’t forget this one simple truth: your brain needs to be used. Don’t hand over all the thinking, imagining, or dreaming to AI. Use it as a partner, not a replacement.
At the end of the day, AI is only as smart as the person using it. And that’s why keeping your brain strong will always be your greatest power.
